10.5 Release Notes

Brandworkz 10.5 Release Notes

We're delighted to introduce Brandworkz 10.5. In this release, we have continued to improve the interface for albums as well as the My Stuff area, in addition to many other improvements around the system.

Revamped Albums Interface

Building on our last release that streamlined creating albums from anywhere in the system, in 10.5 we have enhanced the albums area to make finding and updating them easier with an entirely revamped interface for both the album and album listing pages

Album Listing Page Enhancements

New Viewing Options

The Album Listing now offers two viewing modes to suit user preferences:

  • Grid View – Displays each album as a tile on the page, ideal for browsing your albums. In grid view, you can view a large thumbnail of the last asset added to the album, the asset count of the album on hover, and the album’s access setting.

  • Table View – Allows you to view detailed album information in columns for efficient scanning and comparison of albums.

New Search & Filter Functionality

We’ve added a new album search feature to provide quicker access to albums you’re looking for:

  • New search field – Located in the album header, you can enter a term to search against an album’s name for the selected filter.

  • New filtering options

o My Albums - Focused view of albums you've created

o Received Albums - Focused view of albums shared with you by others in your organisation

  • New sorting options – You can now order your albums based on pertinent criteria such as number of assets, valid from/to dates on the album, album access settings, when the album was last modified, etc.

Action Options Added to the Listing Page

You can now perform actions directly on an album from the listing page without having to go to the album:

  • For albums you created, you can do the following directly from the album listing page:

o View Album

o Edit Album

o Share Album

o Copy Album Link

o Delete Album

  • For albums that other members of your organisation have shared with you:

o View Album

o Copy Album Link

Album Landing Page Enhancements

Updated header and action buttons

  • To help distinguish between album actions, and assets actions, we have moved the album actions to the top header section • The Album access level icon is displayed so you can see if its private or not without having to open the share popup.
  • The Copy Album link is now accessible directly from the “More Options” (…) menu, so you can quickly share your album without having to open the “Share Album” popup. Remember to check the access level when sharing albums.
  • The album header can now be expanded and collapsed when the album has a large description. This ensures that assets are always visible.

Revamped My Stuff Interface

We’ve given the My Stuff area a fresh new look and feel, making for an improved experience.

Latest Albums Panel

We’ve enhanced the “Latest Albums” panel by adding the following:

  • Album asset count
  • Album Valid From and Valid To dates
  • Copy Album link option

Saved Searches Panel

The Saved Searches panel now resizes automatically depending on your screen size and gives you quick access to all your saved searches. Your searches are listed from most to least recent, and you can delete a saved search via the “Actions” column.

Latest Uploads Panel

The Latest Uploads panel now resizes automatically depending on your screen size and gives you direct access to the assets that you have uploaded most recently.

Latest Artworks

The Latest Artworks panel now resizes automatically depending on your screen size and gives you direct access to the artworks that you have most recently created in your dynamic templates.

Other Improvements

Dynamic Template Block – New default layout option

Previously, admins could not change the default view for a Dynamic Templates block, which was set to masonry. Now there is an extra option in the block’s "Options" tab so they can choose between Masonry or Table as the default view.

Please note that the end user can still manually change the layout via the layout toggle on the page.

To update the default layout for a Dynamic Templates block, W2P Admins can go to “Edit content” and from the dynamic template block, go to the “Options” tab to access “Default Layout” setting, where the admin can choose between Masonry view and Table view.

Manage Users Settings – New “Pending Users” tab for pending user registration

Previously only sysadmins could approve new registration requests that came via the registration form. With the introduction of a "Pending" tab users with the Role "Create/Modify users" can also action those requests. The same rules apply as when they are creating users, which is that they can only add users to groups they are a member of themselves.

Manage Groups Settings – New “Description” field for admins

We received requests to be able to add a description to user groups to make them easier to manage.

You can now do this by entering the desired description text in the “Description” field of the “Edit Group” page and then clicking “Save”.

Labels for folders that are hidden or unpublished

We received client feedback that when System Admins were investigating why users with correct permissions to view certain folders were unable to view those folders, it would have been very useful to have immediate indication on folders that were hidden or unpublished. To address this issue, in the DAM and CMS pages, we’ve added labels to folders that are hidden or unpublished. For unpublished folders, the System Admin can view an “Unpublished” label and hover on the label to view when the folder will be published as in the examples below:

For hidden folders, the System Admin can view a “Hidden” label. When hovering over the label, a note is displayed “Only available to sysadmin” as in the examples below:

Make a Duplicated CMS Page as a child of the original page

A bug prevented you from duplicating a CMS page as a child of the original. This has now been fixed.

New Supported File Types

We have added support for the following file types:

  • ksp
  • bip

Please note that previews for these files cannot be shown.

Looking Ahead

We're thrilled with these improvements to the sharing experience, but we're not stopping here. We're already working on more exciting features for our next release. Check out our updated product portal in your system area, and watch for some exciting improvements in the new year.

Please get in touch with your Brandworkz account manager for more information about any of these new features or to arrange a demo of the new sharing capabilities.
