Working with Images

Please note:
For AI and PSD, the generated previews are bitmap based. The same applies to the version used for embedding into the generated PDF files. Therefore it is better to convert these file formats to PDF or EPS before using them in CHILI Editor
Please note:
Please ensure that images have Embed Colour Profile: Adobe RBG (1998) is checked when saving images. If not there can be an issue with colour matching on output.

Under the images tab > image settings it is possible to set how the image will be placed in the document.

Fit > Manual should be used if the end user needs to be able to crop the image or alter how the image is placed on the document. This will create a ‘crop’ button in the variable tab.

Fit > any other option can be used if the end user can only change the image but not alter how it appears in the template.

Under the images tab > image settings it is possible to set how the image will be placed in the document.

Manual fit constraints > no whitespace this will force the image to fill the space provided and will stop the end user from make it any smaller.

Min Resolution can be used to ensure that images are not placed below a certain dpi.

Allowed resize - you can set constraints on the max and min size

Adding additional Images

Please note:
There is a maximum path length of 256 characters. Long asset names could lead to issues. To calculate to the total path characters start with the base path and add the asset name

For example:

The base path is: D:\chili_data\Environments\[client_enviroment provided]\Resources\Assets\

To which you add your path and asset name to find the total number of characters.

\Golley Builds\Standard\After Sales\Accessories Flyers\M40202 Outlander Diesel Accessories A5\M40202 Outlander Diesel Accessories A5\Outlander Diesel Accessory Images\OutDieselTextileMatSetElegance.jpg

Thus the final path: D:\chili_data\Environments\mitsubishi\Resources\Assets\Golley Builds\Standard\After Sales\Accessories Flyers\M40202 Outlander Diesel Accessories A5\M40202 Outlander Diesel Accessories A5\Outlander Diesel Accessory Images\OutDieselTextileMatSetElegance.jpg is a total of 255 characters.

Under the Assets it is possible to add additional images for use in templates.

Simply navigate to the folder into which you’d like to add new assets and click Add Folder’ to create a new folder or Add New’ to add a new asset

Then you can change the image used on the templates.

  1. Click on the image you would like to update.
  2. Navigate to the image tab
  3. Click Assign Image
  4. Search for asset folder where your images are stored
