Working with Links and Anchors

Hyperlinks can be used in text or images to send users to different areas of the site if its relevant to the page content. Anchors can also be used to send users to specific parts of the page if it's particularly long - it'll save users time scrolling to find the content, when instead they can click an anchor link and it'll take them directly to the section.

Links

Highlight the text you would like to make a link and click the image of a link icon in the WYSIWYG bar.

In the pop up window insert the URL you wish to link to and set any other parameters you wish to use.

Please note: Users without permissions to view a folder will not see a link to the forbidden folder

You can also adjust the link so that it opens the page in a new tab by selecting 'Target' and then 'New window'.

Please remember that all internal links MUST only begin from /bms/... and not include the full url

Anchors

Firstly choose where you'd like the Anchor to be - where the user will jump to.

Place the cursor there and click the link icon and choose 'anchor' from the list.

Input the anchor name - remember not to have any spaces. You can use underscores between each word so that the anchor appears with spaces in the hamburger menu (floating navigation).

Then highlight the text you'd like to become the link and click on the link icon again this time choosing link

Now instead of inserting a URL, choose the 'anchor' from the list and click 'Ok'
