The plugins are zipped therefore you will need to unzip this prior to installation.
There are installers for Mac and PC therefore please select the appropriate option
Simply double clicking the installer will initiate the installation of the CHILI Extensions in the right locations.
There are 3 CHILI Indesign plugins compatible with Adobe Indesign CC that make up the CHILI Indesign Extension Family. The CHILI Publish Converter CC, CHILI Publish Live Preflight CC and the CHILI Publish Data Manager CC.
Both installation and updating of the InDesign Extension is handled by our installer *CHILI_Desktop_Tools-OSX-installer* or *CHILI_Desktop_Tools-windows-installer.*
Hassle-free installation on a Mac
1) Fix privileges on your mac
When launching the installer without any prior actions, It is possible that the installation will not succeed because of read/write privileges for your current user. To prevent these issues from happening, you should run the following command from your terminal:
sudo chown -R $(whoami) /Library/Application\ Support/Adobe
You will then be prompted for your password. This action will provide the correct rights to your user for performing the installation.
Set the below folders for read/write access - right click on the folder, click "get info", click the lock icon to unlock the settings, and change the privileges to be "Read & Write"
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEPServiceManager4/extensions /Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions
2) Launch the installer
Launch the installer from the downloaded files. You typically receive a warning that the installer can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer.
3) Allow the installer to run
Open your system preferences and select to "Security & Privacy"
At the bottom, you will see a warning that the installer was blocked. From here, by clicking "Open Anyway", the installer will be launched again and your are allowed to run it.
You will see another notification, but you can ignore it and click "Open".
4) Go through the installation wizard
Just follow the steps of the installer and install the extensions you would like to install on your machine.
Uninstallation of the plugin
If you haven't cleaned up previously installed plugins, please follow the instructions above first.
Mac OS
- Browse to following locations:
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEPServiceManager4/extensions
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions - Look in both locations for any folder containing the name CHILI.
- Have them all selected and deleted.
Windows OS
- Browse to following location:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CEPServiceManager4\extensions ** C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CEP\Extensions **
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\CEPServiceManager4\extensions
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\CEP\extensions - Look in all locations for any folder containing the name CHILI.
- Have them all selected and deleted.
